I will put pressure on the security guards to track down the murderers of Sowore’s brother —Keyamo
Minister of State, Labor and Employment Festus Keyamo (SAN) says he and other compatriots will pressure law enforcement to track down the killers of Olajide Sowore, younger brother former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.
The minister said so on Saturday in a letter of condolence to the activist.
The punch previously reported that the kidnappers at around 6 a.m. shot dead Olajide along the Lagos-Benin highway in Edo state.
State Police Public Relations Officer Kontongs Bello said The punch that the remains of the deceased had been deposited in the IUTH mortuary, Okada.
Bello said the late Sowore was killed when gunmen kidnapped around five people.
The PPRO said: “This is to confirm to you that suspected kidnappers around 6:45 am along the Lagos-Benin highway through Isuwa kidnapped five unidentified people and shot dead a Sowore Felix Olajide, a pharmacy student from the ‘Okada Igbinedion University.
“His remains have been deposited in the IUTH mortuary in Okada while efforts continue to save the five kidnapping victims. The search and rescue operation is underway.
Elder Sowore, in a tribute posted on Facebook, described his brother as “an original thinker” who decided to go back to school when he was about to turn 50.
In his condolence letter, Keyamo urged the former presidential candidate to regain courage and remain committed to helping the nation find a lasting solution to the challenges facing the nation.
“It is quite sad and regrettable that such a young man is shot in his prime by criminal elements.
“Myself and other compatriots would put pressure on the police to track down these killers without delay and bring them to justice. This, and many others in the country, must be checked with all the arsenals at our disposal.
“I urge you to take courage and remain committed to helping the nation find a lasting solution to some of these many challenges,” the minister wrote.
