Infoblox Extends Market Lead With Workplace Modernization Updates From NIOS, The Industry-Leading Solution for Basic Network Services

SANTA CLARA, California, 23 December 2021 / PRNewswire / – Infoblox inc., Leader in Cloud-Based DNS Management and Security, Announces Network Identity Operating System (NIOS) 8.6.1. This release gives customers more functionality to customize the hybrid workplace with cloud integrations for Ansible, support for Azure Stack, Red Hat OpenShift, and VMware vRealize Orchestrator. New features also enhance visibility, user experience, and control, and improve the security of corporate data and infrastructure for hybrid networks of all sizes.

As remote working pushes organizations deeper into hybrid and multi-cloud environments, Infoblox is releasing NIOS 8.6.1 to provide network administrators with more cloud integrations and improved visibility and security for hybrid environments. This release builds on the company’s two decades of leadership in the core network services market and its cloud-driven evolution, which enables companies to modernize their network and security architectures. NIOS 8.6.1:

  • Extends the multi-cloud footprint with support for vNIOS for Azure Stack and Red Hat OpenShift, as well as integrations for DevOps and orchestration tools such as Ansible and VMware vRealize Orchestrator 8.0. These additions increase the ability of users to embrace automation, flexibility and scalability in their cloud and virtualization environments. 8.6.1 also enables large enterprises and service providers to manage multi-cloud deployments and migrate to containerized architectures.
  • Increase DDI visibility and control by enabling more granular Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) rules in DNS traffic controller and extending Network Insight to discover lightweight access points (LWAPs) through the WLAN controller. 8.6.1 also allows better visibility of the most important data and simplifies the control of NTP synchronization on a network scale.
  • Improves authentication with support for additional DNSSEC zone signature algorithms including the Elliptical Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) for DNSSEC to improve security, processing speed and performance using Shorter encryption keys and protect data from unauthorized alteration.

“As we head into 2022, companies continue to invest in cloud-centric technologies to enable a hybrid workplace,” says Dave signori, vice president of product management, at Infoblox. “In turn, we are extending our lead in the core network services market by providing customers with additional functionality to personalize and secure their workplace transformation journeys. We stay ahead of the innovation curve by delivering these rich feature sets to customers.
