Mimecast taps Chillisoft for New Zealand distribution
Cybersecurity solutions distributor Chillisoft has partnered with Nasdaq-listed email security and cyber resilience company Mimecast.
The deal, which covers New Zealand and Fiji, comes as the local cybersecurity market shifts gears, according to Chillisoft CEO Alex Teh.
“The combination of high-profile cyberattacks and a skills shortage due to COVID-19 lockdowns has rattled the industry,” Teh said.
The current environment was therefore one of highest cybersecurity needs and lowest resources, increasing the need for highly effective products.
“After 25 years of selling email security solutions, I can say that the number one cyberattack vector is still email,” Teh said. “It is extremely important for New Zealand organizations and channel partners to have an enterprise solution with high effectiveness rates to quickly block and remediate such attacks, and Mimecast has the capability to do just that. .”
Teh said Mimecast is a complementary vendor to Chillisoft’s current portfolio.
“Chillisoft has built its own zero-trust alliance with vendors such as Mimecast, Netskope, Cyberark, ESET and LogRhythm, providing complementary elements to the overall solution for our channel,” he said.
Partners have traditionally trusted Chillisoft to have the technical and business skills necessary to lead and interact directly with end users.
“Our goal with Mimecast is to provide the facilities and technical resources to be able to support its solutions and customers, so we are excited about the potential of this partnership in 2022 and beyond,” Teh said.
The partnership both expanded Chillisoft’s portfolio and signaled an increased focus on the New Zealand and Fiji markets for Mimecast.
Mimecast Sales Manager for A/NZ, Craig McGregor, said with the rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape, partnering with Chillisoft was a logical way to increase market share while delivering more value. distribution partners and customers.
Mimecast hasn’t had a distributor before, he said, so the announcement marked a new chapter and channel model for the company in New Zealand.
“The opportunities for cybersecurity companies with the right partnership structure in New Zealand are huge,” McGregor said. “While we know the New Zealand market well, Chillisoft offers us and our partner base deeper local knowledge and solid stability of complementary vendors, some with whom we already have alliances and integration. API, for the benefit of our customers.”
